Useless Items

Some tricksy enchanter has made a bunch of useless cursed items for amusement.

Ghostly Armor

Rarity: Common?
Type: Variant (Armor)

While wearing this ethereal looking armor, you can use a bonus action to make it invisible or to appear visible again.

Curse. Once you don this cursed armor, you can't doff it unless you are targeted by the remove curse spell or similar magic. In addition to appearing ethereal, the armor actually is ethereal allowing weapons and projectiles to pass through unimpeded. While wearing this armor, your base Armor Class is 10 + your Dexterity modifier.

This would also screw over any Unarmored effects as you are technically still wearing armor

Spectacles of Dark Sight

Rarity: Common (requires attunement)?
Type: Wondrous Item

These dark tinted spectacles grant you truesight out to 120ft.

Curse. These spectacles are cursed. Attuning to them curses you until you are targeted by a spell such as remove curse or a similar effect. While cursed, the tint of the spectacles makes you effectively blinded. This condition cannot be removed while you are cursed.

Ring of Harm Detection

Rarity: Common (requires attunement)?
Type: Wondrous Item

The green gem set into this silver ring will glow red if it detects nearby objects or effects that would harm you to touch.

Curse. This ring is cursed. Attuning to it curses you until you are targeted by a spell such as remove curse or a similar effect. While cursed, the range of this ring's effect is so small that you have to touch the object or effect to determine if it is harmful.

Wand of Spellcasting

Rarity: Common (requires attunement)?
Type: Wondrous Item

This magic wand will allow you to cast any spell of your choice from any list. You may also cast the spell any level above the spell's lowest level.

Curse. This wand is cursed. Attuning to it curses you until you are targeted by a spell such as remove curse or a similar effect. While cursed, you can only cast spells that you know or have prepared. Using the wand is so draining that you must expend a spell slot of a level that is equal or higher than the level you cast the spell at, or the casting fails.
